I looked up one day not too long ago and discovered that there were no
longer any babies in this house. I don’t know when it happened,
exactly, but one day Ashlyn turned into a little girl instead. Ashlyn,
you always make us laugh. We love cuddling with you, and you most
definitely keep us on our toes! Happy 4th Birthday. We love you!

Trick or Treat!

The girls had a great time getting all dressed up for Halloween
yesterday! Ashlyn got to wear her costume to school and her class took
a field trip to the nursing home for trick or treating. I love that
idea! Then last night, we went to the Fall Festival at Cedar Crest
followed by a trick-or-treating hayride compliments of Uncle Jono in
Nana and Grandpa’s neighborhood. And of course we carved our pumpkin
Sunday night as is our annual tradition. Hope you enjoy the pictures!

Pumpkin Patch!

We were very excited to spend the morning at Curry Farms in Start. First we
went through the corn maze and then we loaded up on the hay ride to head to
the pumpkin patch. It was neat to learn how a pumpkin grows and even see
the pumpkins in various stages still in the patch. After we all picked out
our perfect pumpkins, we headed back to the front to ride the train, race
the ducks, play in the corn box, and ride the horse swings - among other
things. We had a great time and look forward to continuing this family
tradition for years to come!

Happy 7th Birthday Adelle!

It can’t possibly be Adelle’s 7th birthday today. Didn’t she JUST
turn 6? I guess time really does fly when you’re having fun. We
started the birthday celebration last weekend. On Saturday afternoon,
we headed to Icing in the mall to have Adelle’s ears pierced. She’s
been asking patiently for about a year, and Mama and Daddy decided she
was old enough and responsible enough to have them pierced. She was
so brave and is doing a great job taking care of them! Then we
finished off the day with a party at Excalibur. What a neat place
where all ages really can have fun. Adelle stuck to the arcade games
and play gym, but several of her friends enjoyed the go karts as well.
And the lucky birthday girl spun a 500 ticket bonus on the birthday
party prize wheel! She’s really been enjoying her presents this week.
You’ll see some of them in the pictures. Happy Birthday Adelle! We
love you so much. We are so proud of you and you bring such joy to
our lives.

For months we kept the ultimate secret from our girls…we were going
to Disney World! There were a couple of close calls, but somehow we
managed to pull off the surprise and on Wed, Jun 8 at 6 a.m. it was
time to reveal our big news. We woke the girls up and gave them
Mickey Mouse t-shirts. Adelle was excited. Ashlyn was sleepy, but
she came around. So we headed to Jackson to catch a plane to Orlando.
I wasn’t anticipating the girls’ excitement to meet the various
characters, but that turned out to be the highlight of our trip. They
both loved Magic Kingdom, especially FantasyLand. Ashlyn said meeting
Mickie Mouse was her favorite thing, and Adelle really liked the tea
cups. It might have been their first visit, but I hope it’s not their
last!
